Dental Crown Procedure
STEP ONE
Dentist examines the tooth, removes any decay, and prepares the tooth for the eventual crown.
STEP TWO
Dentist or Dental Assistant takes a digital impression with our iTero scanner, which is used as a model to make sure the crown properly fits.
STEP THREE
Dentist places a temporary crown and sends the final design and aesthetic details to our Fastmill.io for same-day fabrication or a domestic specialty lab for cosmetic cases.
STEP FOUR
Dentist places the crown and checks proper fit and occlusion.

Step 1 — Exam and prep. Your dentist examines the tooth, removes any decay, and gently shapes it for the crown.
Step 2 — Digital scan. Instead of impression goop, we take a precise 3D scan of your tooth with our iTero digital scanner.
Step 3 — Design and mill. Your dentist designs your crown digitally, then it's milled from a solid block of dental ceramic right here in our office.
Step 4 — Placement. We check the fit, bite, and shade, then bond your permanent crown in place. You walk out done.
Average total time is about 2 hours. For our busy patients who need to go back to work, we can provide a temporary crown and schedule your permanent crown to be delivered the following day.
